About
Nad-E-Ali“My work explores the rituals I know from my hometown, but how I see and experience them.”
Nad-E-Ali is an interdisciplinary artist based in Lahore, Pakistan, working across photography, archival materials, sound and found objects. His practice explores personal and collective memory, drawing on the rituals, traditions and everyday experiences of his surroundings.
Growing up without an artistic background or easy access to photographic equipment, Nad’s interest in photography began after seeing another photographer’s images of Lahore. The encounter revealed how a familiar place could be seen and interpreted differently. He began experimenting with borrowed cameras, later exploring analogue processes and developing an approach that moves freely between mediums.
Alongside his artistic practice, Nad is involved in photography education and independent publishing, helping make creative knowledge more accessible to others. His work has received international recognition, including a Prince Claus Seed Award and selection for Foam Talent 2026.
